Every day is Earth Day here at Acorn Acres Farm! 🌎 We are always looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint by recycling, repurposing, restoring, and regenerating - 4 values which are woven into all that we do on the farm and in the store. ♻️

We have completely stopped buying bags for the store and greatly appreciate your help with this transition by bringing your own bags, boxes, crates, or coolers when you shop with us! We are especially mindful of the waste that we inevitably produce by carefully sorting out our trash, recycling, and compost.

On the farm we use sustainable methods of pest control and weed management, along with solar-powered fencing, and we never use synthetic herbicides, fungicides, or pesticides.

Thanks to our parents, we’ve been practicing sustainability for decades, and believe that earth care can begin at any age. As kids, we were raised learning the sustainable practices that we still use in running the farm today.

Together we can build a more sustainable future that supports the earth instead of depleting it! We couldn’t do this without you – thank you for caring for the planet by supporting Acorn Acres Farm. 💚

This week’s fresh harvest includes a growing offering from our gardens!

  • Asparagus

  • Blueberries (frozen)

  • Green Onions

  • Herbs—Fresh (dill, celery, chives, mint, ramp tops, garlic greens, etc.) and dried options available!

  • Kale

  • Leaf Lettuce

  • Mixed Greens—endive, mixed leaf lettuce, kale, spinach, and other baby greens

  • Mushrooms—Chef's Sampler (Maitake, Alba and Brown Clamshell, Trumpet Royale, Grey Oyster) and bulk Maitake Frondosa

  • Mustard Greens—Purple and Green Mix

  • Potatoes 

  • Pumpkins and other Winter Squash (and gourde) varieties including autumn frost and Musquee de Provence (Fairytale Pumpkins) and more! 

  • Ramps—Ramps in limited quantity!!

  • Rhubarb—First of the season!!

  • ​Spinach

  • Sweet Potatoes

  • Swiss Chard

  • Watercress

As always, our produce is GMO-free and grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides — and we make sure it stays that way, even for crops  that are tricky to grow naturally!

Dairy & Eggs

This week’s options include:

  • Grass-fed, organic, non-homogenized, low heat pasteurized cow's milk (from Kalona Supernatural this week!), butter  (Small Acres Specialty Farms tub butter only), cheese (cottage and GGC sharp cheddar), French Dip, kefir, sour cream, whipping cream, and yogurt (vanilla and plain this week)! 

  • Chicken eggs AND duck eggs this week!

Meat Availability

This week’s options (while supplies last) include:

  • Beef Prime Steaks: Filet, NY Strip, and T-Bone / Porterhouse Steaks!—We were hoping to have our additional prime steaks (including ribeye) this week, however, we will not have them until next week.

  • Beef Grill Options: Ground Beef and Round! Beef Patties (3 pk), Suet (for getting your skillet hot, with flavor), and more! We're also carrying The Brooklyn Hot Dog Company dogs: All Beef or Beef & Pork!   • Beef Stew & Organ Meat Options: Stew and Organ Meats,  including cheeks, heart, kidney, spleen, sweet breads, tongue, and more! Respect the whole animal and enjoy the health benefits! Ask our team what makes the organ meats so special!
