Don’t delay, put in your whole turkey orders today!
Fresh, high quality produce and meats are one reason, among many, to shop locally. Ordering weekly helps to ensure you are purchasing only the ingredients that you will use and encourages planning meals for the week - a practice that can save money and help you eat better!
Did you know the average family of four spends at least $1,500 per year on food that does not get eaten? Not to mention by eating out regularly. We know that organic, pastured, and grass fed products may not appear to be as inexpensive as other options, but we pride ourselves in products raised as naturally and humanely as possible. No additives, growth hormones, or preservatives - so you can feel good about what you feed your family and friends while making the best choice for the planet!

Produce
The cooler climates are setting in, but we've managed to trap as much of the sunlight in our grateful plants as possible by covering them and transplanting to our warmer hoops. It's like moving South for the winter for many of our plants, without the laborious travel issues. We've also been planting cold tolerant seedlings, right in our rich soil which has been waiting to welcome these new babies with abundant nutrients—generously feeding all of us. This week’s fresh harvest includes:
Arugula
Beets
Blueberries (frozen)
Cabbage—nice and large! Some of these heads this week are 6 lbs, imagine how that can feed you and your family!!
Carrots—sweet, crisp, and scrumptious! Straight from our nutrient dense soil!
Daikon Radish—we are serving the greens / tops separately this week! And, in case you hadn't heard, the tops are rich in magnesium and vitamins C as well as K. There is some reason to believe that they may help with memory loss and protect the lungs against oxidative stress and damage. Whatever the health benefits, you can avoid the fuzzy texture of the tops by cooking them and you won't be disappointed in the amazing flavor, chock full of it!

Meat Availability
This week’s options (while supplies last) include:
Beef Prime Steaks: Filets, NY Strips, Ribeyes and Denver Steaks. If you haven't tried the Denver Steak, you will want to! They're also known as "chuck under blade steak" or "boneless cut short rib steak" and are not quite as expensive as the other prime steaks. Compared with other muscles, this one doesn't get much action, which gives the cut extra tenderness and has been ranked as one of the tenderest with plenty of great, deep beefy flavor. It takes a strong hand and an experienced butcher to offer this steak. But the extra effort is worth it!
Beef Savory Roasts, Steaks & Ribs: Chuck, Chuck Arm, Prime Rib (bone-in)--two left, Rump / Round, Sirloin Tip Roasts and Cubed, Flank, Flat Iron, Mock Tenderloin, and Skirt steaks as well as our favorite Short Ribs (get the box with 2 pkgs for 15% off)!
Beef Grill Options: Ground Beef, Beef Patties (3 or 4 pk), Suet (for getting your skillet hot, with flavor), and more! We're also carrying The Brooklyn Hot Dog Company dogs: All Beef or Beef & Pork! Buy two and get 15% off, while supplies last (see our box specials including a 15% break on condiments and brioche buns)!
Beef Stew & Organ Meat Options: Soup Bones, Stew and Organ Meats, including liver, heart, kidney, and more! Respect the whole animal and enjoy the health benefits! Ask our team what makes the organ meats so special!
Chicken (frozen): Whole and Cut-ups (breasts—currently boneless/skinless only, thighs—boneless/skinless or bone-in options, drumsticks, leg quarters, and wings—a 15% discount if you buy 2 pkgs wings!!), Ground Chicken, Soup Bones (necks and backs—2 for the price of 1 while supplies last) and Organ Meats. Also, if you haven't tried our yummy, Mild Chicken Italian Sausage, you're missing out!! Our popular chicken feet and liver will be back next week!
