Summer produce is on the horizon!

We're seeing signs of summer over at Acorn Acres Farm! Everybody's favorite juicy tomatoes and summer squash are growing strong in the fields as well as some fun varieties of beans and cabbage. We're so excited to share the bounty with you in the coming months!

New produce is arriving in store weekly, come by the shop at 362 Indian Boundary Road to check it out or pre-order online for in-store or curbside pickup. We're open:
• Wednesdays 10am - 5pm
• Thursdays 10am - 5pm
• Fridays 10am - 5pm
• Saturdays 10am - 4pm

Produce

This week’s harvest includes a variety of fresh herbs, leafy greens, and our growing list for the summer – enjoy our local bounty while it lasts!

  • Blueberries (frozen)

  • Butternut Squash

  • Herbs — limited supply of broccoli florets, celery, chives, garlic scapes, lavender, mint, oregano, parsley, sage, thyme, and many dried options; pre-order to confirm varieties & availability!

  • Kale— We have an abundance this week so buy two healthy bunches ($4.49 each) for a 15% discount on both!! 

  • Leeks!!

  • Lettuce (head & mixed, many varieties including buttercrunch, mini red romaine heads, red leaf lettuce heads, etc) We have an abundance of head lettuce, mostly Romain varieties, this week so buy two healthy bunches ($4.49 each) for a 15% discount on both!!

  • Mushrooms (shiitake)—fresh in very limited supply!!

  • Strawberries— Get them while they last in either a pint ($3.99) or a full quart ($6.49) picked at their peak with lots of flavor!!

  • Radish (hot)

  • Rhubarb

  • Snap Peas— Early days, limited!!

  • Sweet Potatoes

  • Swiss Chard 

  • Wasabi arugula

  • Watercress

And more. Like any local market, we never know what else we might end up with until we harvest. So, it helps to come to the farm store and explore or request further details when pre-ordering!

This week’s options include:

  • A2 protein/grass-fed cow's milk, butter, buttermilk, cheese (cottage and a variety of others), French dip, Kefir (plain), sour cream, yogurt (Greek & Plain), & whipping cream AND Goat Cheese (Chevre & Farmstead) this week!

  • Chicken eggs

Meat Availability

This week’s options (while supplies last) include:

  • Prime Steaks are back: NY Strips, Ribeye & Denver

  • Beef Savory Steaks: Cubed, Round (Eye, Top, and Bottom), PLUS Flat Iron, Mock Tenderloin, Skirt, and more!

  • Beef Roasts: Chuck, Chuck Arm, Rump (or Rolled Rump), Sirloin Tip, Swiss Steak Roast, and Top & Bottom Round Roasts.

  • Beef Grill Options: Ground (including ground beef, chuck, and sirloin), Patties (3 & 4/pkg), Stew Meat, Soup Bones, Shank Bones, Tallow and more! We're also carrying The Brooklyn Hot Dog Company dogs: Classic Beef, Beef & Pork, and Pepperoni (Pork & Beef)! Chef Tony takes great pride in his work as he seeks the best possible ingredients both in the quality of the meat and in the spices that go into his dogs!

  • Pork: Re-stocked Sweet Italian & Hot Italian, Ethiopian Berbere, Fresh Kielbasa, Merquez, Mild Breakfast, and Oaxacan Adobo Sausage this week! All from our pannage raised pork and organically sourced spice blends (featuring the Teeny Tiny Spice Co). Pork Chops (thick and thin), roasts, and more! Other cuts: Neck Bones, Soup Bones, Organ Meats, Back Fat (Great for making your own lard or using just like it is to grease your skillet!). We have our Bacon, Ham, and Ham Hocks back in limited supply, if you haven't come by yet this spring for a taste, please do before supplies run out! We're also carrying a variety of smoked bacon sausage options from Big Fork (from Berkshire Hogs raised on pasture): Maple & Brown Sugar Bacon, Hickory & Applewood Bacon, Aged Cheddar Bacon, Bacon & Ale, and Chicken & Bacon Sausage. Request a letter from Chef Lance, for details about his practices when placing your order!

  • Lamb: Chops (loin and rib) & Roasts (Arm, Leg of Lamb, and Shoulder or Shoulder "Blade"). Also available: Meaty Shanks, and Soup Bones!

  • Chicken (fresh & frozen): Whole, Cut-ups (boneless/skinless as well as bone-in & skin on breast, leg quarters, and wings), Ground Chicken, Soup Bones (necks and backs) and Organ Meats (feet, heart, liver & gizzards). Notice: this season, it has been particularly challenging to offer our local, pastured, organically raised chickens. However, we're happy to say that we think that we will be able to offer fresh chicken at least every other week throughout the season. Sometimes weekly. So, if it matters to you, please ensure you're putting in a pre-order on our form so that we can set some aside for when you intend to come in. Orders should be for the week of pick-up. 

  • Turkey (frozen): Ground Turkey, Drumsticks, Soup Bones (including backs and feet), Wings, and Organ Meats. 

  • Duck (frozen): Whole, delicious, and full of great flavor!

  • Salmon: Kvarøy Arctic Rope Hung, Smoked Salmon and Salmon Filets sustainably raised in Norway where they are doing what they can to protect our seas and share their long traditions with the rest of us. Their waters and fish are pristine, and the Kvarøy Arctic team is working tirelessly to keep it that way. “We must leave the environment in the same or better shape than when we began.” —Alf-Gøran Knutsen, CEO of Kvarøy Arctic. We are out of the Salmon Burgers but hope to re-stock in July 2022!
