Pre-Order Your Turkey Now – Don't Miss Out!
Turkeys are getting nervous because it’s almost that time of the year! Make sure to get your order in in the next few weeks by noting approximate weights preferred along with a tentative pick-up date on your pre-order form. We'll have very limited quantities of pastured turkey, and plenty of other seasonal goods like pumpkins (and yes, Joe's pies this year!) as well as many winter squash varieties, potatoes, organic cranberry preserve (delicious with turkey!), sweet potatoes, sweet onions, and more!
We'll also have a select supply of beef prime steaks and roasts (including prime rib!), lamb roasts and chops, pork chops and sausage, smoked ham, specialty bacon, and whole chickens or cut-ups. Check our website for our weekly harvests, dairy, eggs, and meat availability, or come into the store to see our seasonal selection.

Produce
Portions of our gardens are slowly transitioning as the cooler climate sets in. What does this mean for all who enjoy fresh produce boxes weekly? It means that we are quickly covering the gardens to ensure our season lasts longer and to trap as much of that gorgeous sunlight in our grateful plants. It also means we've been planting cold tolerant seedlings, right in our rich soil. That soil has been waiting to welcome these new babies with abundant nutrients—generously feeding all of us. This week’s fresh harvest includes:
Arugula
Beets
Blueberries (frozen)
Cabbage
Carrots
Cauliflower
Cherry Tomatoes —this is likely our last week of the season!
Daikon Radish—one will serve a family of 3, unique and flavorful!
Eggplant—many varieties (including those with few seeds)!
Garlic—we've been juggling between our own gardens and multiple organic, local, small farmers to ensure we still have more bulbs throughout the season . . . it isn't easy because the seeds are extremely expensive, have you looked at heirloom and organic seed catalogs? Starting with organic seeds, one could spend upwards of $30/lb for these special gems. So, we hope you enjoy them at the much lower price we are offering them to you!
Green or Red Bell Peppers and other Sweet Peppers (Banana, Yummy, etc.) — get them while you can!!
Green Beans (bush, filet, and vine varieties of multiple colors and flavors)--enjoy that crisp, extraordinary snap with the refreshing explosion of flavors for just a bit longer, as we continue to harvest!
Heirloom Tomatoes—Many colors and varieties (including cherry)! Yes, we have a few left, despite the shifting weather!
Herbs—Fresh chives, dill, lavender, mint, oregano, parsley, sage, thyme, and some surprises!! Many dried options!
Hot Pepper Varieties (some that will ignite the pallet of even the most tolerant)!—chili, datil, jalapeño, poblano, serrano, shishito, sugar rush, Thai, and additional chili varieties (fading with the cold so get them while you can and dry them at home for your winter dishes)!
Kale (curly)
Leeks—Enjoy them in your favorite soup stocks or just enjoy them!
Lettuce (whole heads and some mixed)
Mixed Greens—a fascinating and exotic salad mix for the adventure in you! We've been adding fresh herbs to the concoction for a little excitement!
Mushrooms—oak log harvested fresh shiitake: DELICIOUS and oh so good for us! We also have dried maitake and "Malama" powder mixes with many therapeutic claims. For more on "mālama" enjoy your "ocean education classroom" with Dane Maxwell and learn more about this fascinating word!
Onions —Candy onions and white!
Potatoes—Red Nolans and Kennebecs!! Fresh dug . . . amazing flavor!
Pumpkins and other Winter Squash (and gourde) varieties including winter luxury pumpkins, autumn frost, buttercups, honey boat delicata, honey nut butternut and full-size butternut, green and cream—Thelma Sanders—acorn, Musqee de Provance (Fairytale Pumpkins), spaghetti squash and many more! Beef Prime Steaks: Filets, NY Strips, Ribeyes and Sirloin Steaks! Denver Steaks as well this week! If you haven't tried them, you will want to! They're also known as "chuck under blade steak" or "boneless cut short rib steak" and are not quite as expensive as the other prime steaks. Compared with other muscles, this one doesn't get much action, which gives the cut extra tenderness and has been ranked as one of the tenderest with plenty of great, deep beefy flavor. It takes a strong hand and an experienced butcher to offer this steak. But the extra effort is worth it!

We are still negotiating the butcher fee; therefore, prices are not yet available. If interested, please add your preferred size and date of pick-up to our standard pre-order wishlist and we'll contact you with the price, once confirmed. Note: 10.5 to 15 lb turkeys will come early (by 11/8) fresh frozen this year! Depending on size, please allow 3 to 5 days to thaw. For birds >16 lbs, they will come fresh only this year starting on 11/17. Along with our normal store days/hours, we will also be open 11/20, 11/21, and 11/22 from 10 to 6P.
